San Diego Library Summer Reading Program

Join Zovargo this summer in the San Diego Library Summer Reading Program. Libraries are pretty cool.  And by cool, I mean “very important and uniquely positioned to benefit the communities they serve,” and I think it’s time that more of us take advantage of everything that they have to offer.  

First, there’s the obvious: Libraries offer people the chance to borrow virtually any book they might want, all for free.  Libraries are a very democratic institution in this way– they make information accessible for anyone who’s interested, regardless of socio-economic standing or any other potentially limiting factor.  

Libraries are more than just the books they offer, though.  They are warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer, they have computers that can access the internet, and they offer classes and workshops across a wide variety of disciplines… all for free.  This Summer, a person can attend a yoga class, play mahjong, learn English Sign Language, bring their children to group story time, and learn about conservation while meeting amazing animals. This Summer, Zovargo is proud to be a part of the San Diego Library’s Summer Reading Program: It’s Showtime!  This season’s catalog is all bringing action, adventure, and exciting new experiences to library patrons everywhere.  Come join us for an opportunity to meet (and possibly touch!) live, show-stopping animal ambassadors and learn how to positively impact the lives of animals all across the world.

Our San Diego Library Summer Reading Program is kid and adult-friendly, and blends education with excitement for an experience that is both illuminating and downright fun.  Conservation is a focal element in our presentation as well as a passion shared by everyone wearing the Zovargo uniform.  Learn recycling do’s and don’ts (more complicated than you might think!), get versed on common animal husbandry myths, and learn the history of animals that share our local environment (did you know that San Diego hosts a thriving population of a very endangered bird?)
